After almost 4 weeks, my new glasses were finally in and I picked them up today. I'm not sure if I like them and the prescription isn't as strong as I'd like them to be so I'll probably be exchanging them after I get my eyes tested again.

{Day 59 ~ 2.28.12}

Today is a snow day so we are definitely not going anywhere. Like the other 2 Project 365's I have done, I wanted to do water droplets and after about an hour and a half of taking shots, this is what I came up with. About 97% of the shots were of still water. LOL It's too bad the ripples weren't as clear as the droplet, but it's hard to get a focus on something that isn't there yet! We ran out of milk at suppertime and are supposed to be getting a snowstorm tomorrow so I took the girls for a quick run to Sobeys to get some. I can't wait for Spring...

Today was the girls friend Madison's birthday party at the bowling alley. Besides a little meltdown from Kaylee because she couldn't get a toy from the crane game, it was great! Kristen even got a strike once! Madison is the one in pink and Kristen's best friend Emily is in blue. :)

{Day 56 ~ 2.25.12}

The girls have 2 birthday parties to go to this weekend and I bought something for each girl, but still made them something small to go with it. A pair of earrings for today's party that Kaylee is going to, and a bookmark (Monster High style) for the party the girls are going to tomorrow.

{Day 55 ~ 2.24.12}

As long as there is school, every Friday I volunteer at the school library to help shelve books. Kristen still has lunch when I get there just before 12:30 so she always runs up to greet me outside. Kaylee usually isn’t able to come and see me but today I wrote a note so she could. :)

{Day 54 ~ 2.23.12}

Barry got a new company cell phone a few weeks ago...a Samsung Galaxy S2X. It has Android apps, an 8MP camera, a qwerty keyboard and the sound quality is SO much better! He didn't want the plain black case they were going to get for him so we ordered this one on eBay which came today.

{Day 53 ~ 2.22.12}

Kaylee has been having a lot of anxiety lately which results in her having a stomach ache then she doesn't want to eat or go to school and the non-eating makes her stomach ache worse. We're going to try having her go to the school psychologist to see if he can help her deal with whatever is going on. I hope it helps soon! I don't want her to be in pain or miss any more school!

Kaylee stayed home today because her tummy was bothering her so she was playing with Kristen's iPod and decided to message me for a bit. :)

My sunglasses came in today so the girls and I headed to the mall to get them. I also went to Coles to spend the gift card my sister gave me for my birthday and got The Hobbit. I've never had thick framed glasses with no nose pads before...they're going to take some getting used to!

After Kaylee's bath tonight she decided to try to put in her earrings herself. She's so proud!

This afternoon we went over to my parents house for my birthday dinner with them, my sister & her family and my brother & his family. At my request, my Mom made homemade pizza and gave me a birthday lemon meringue pie instead of a birthday cake. It was SO yummy!!

As usual, we had take out for my birthday....yummy Chow Family cuisine! I wanted to take a picture of me in my new glasses for my POTD today, but the darn things still haven't come in!

Barry picked up an early birthday present for me today...a new laptop! Mine doesn't charge a battery anymore so it has to stay plugged in constantly and the cord always pops out so we figured he could have my old one for his music room (since he wouldn't be moving it around) and I could get a new one! It's not a hugely powerful one but it's an upgrade from the one I had!

The display iPhone I bought on eBay came today. She still LOVES cell phones so I figured she'd be over the moon with this one and I was right! She keeps saying "I love it Mommy...thank you!!". I got the purple case at Dollarama and am waiting for a pink sparkly one in the mail. :)



 

{Day 45 ~ 2.14.12}

Happy Valentine's Day! This morning the girls opened their presents from me...Kristen got a Webkinz Love Elephant, Kaylee got a Barbie Phonics book set and they each got a Hello Kitty heart filled with candy bracelets. After school my Mom came over and set up a party for the girls & my nephews. They had cupcakes, Smarties & Love Hearts along with some chocolate milk to wash it down. They all had a blast!

We had a lot of rain, freezing rain and snow on the weekend which weighed down all the trees. If you want to compare, check out the February 1st photo! Today was a really cold day with it being -30 with the windchill this morning. I had plans, but decided they could wait a day.

Kaylee had a birthday dance party to go to today. Barry drove her there, so I took a snapshot of her before she left. :)

Kristen had her friend Bailey over for a few hours this afternoon. They had to play inside though as it's raining!

Kev & Lynda came up for a visit today to bring me my early birthday present and the girls their early Valentine's Day presents. They also gave us a gorgeous crokinole board that Kev made. The girls had a blast playing each other! I love Kaylee's face when she was gearing up for a turn. LOL

A few weeks ago we decided to start giving Kristen an allowance of sorts...we pay her $1 every time she unloads the dishes from the dishwasher and if there are any dirty ones, loads them in afterward. So far she's done a great job!

It was a sunny day today! I told the girls they needed to go outside and get some fresh air so Kaylee and Chloe went to slide on the little hill next door.

{Day 38 ~ 2.7.12}

Today was my sister's birthday and while we were at my parents house celebrating with a turkey dinner, I took Kaylee to Sparks for an hour so she wouldn't miss out on their Valentine's Day party. She made a heart shaped crayon, cut out the circle papers using a Cricut and had a cupcake and a cookie!

One of my favorite things to do right now when I'm bored is play Scrabble on my iPod with some friends. I always have a game going on with Kristen, to help her with her vocabulary.

I am such a procrastinator when it comes to doing laundry. The top and bottom baskets were clothes I washed last week but didn't fold until today. Now to get all the stuff put away before NEXT weekend! LOL

This afternoon Kristen's school choir performed at a concert at First United Church called Choirs for Comfort to help raise funds and food for the food bank. The last two numbers were with all of the choirs and it sounded wonderful!

Kristen went to a birthday party tonight at Forever Memories Equestrian Center. She had a blast riding a horse and painting one too! Literally...they put paint on their hands and then put it on the horse.

I took some time this afternoon to make a necklace for Kristen's friend who is having a birthday party tomorrow and a bracelet to put in my Etsy store. I really have to get back into making things regularly!

Our first official snow day (we had one last week but it was supposed to be an in-service day anyway). I don't think we're going to get a LOT of snow but the officials were just being cautious.
