Kaylee came home with this piece of writing she did in school. I think it's cute. :) Alyssa, River, Emma, Kiara and Emma C. are all girls in her class.

Barry took Kaylee to a birthday swimming party today for her friend Kiara. She had a great time, especially now that she has a bit of experience in the pool!

While Kaylee was waiting for her friend to come home this afternoon, I curled her hair. She LOVES it!

The ring the Tooth Fairy gave Kristen for her first lost teeth has become too small for her so I bought this pretty sterling silver ring with an artificial Mystic Fire gem in it for her. It's a tiny bit big but hopefully it'll stay on.

Before getting groceries this morning, I stopped into Clay Cafe to pick up the girls tiles they made at Sparks last week.

Tonight was Family Math Night at the school where there were activities in each room so you could see what types of things the kids do at school to learn. We didn't get much done in either room because I had to split my time between them, but it was still fun. :)

Last week I decided to upgrade my cell phone and get an iPhone 4S. I didn't want to keep carrying around my cell phone, a camera AND my iPod in my purse all the time (the iPhone combines them all) and I liked the fact that I could go onto the internet where ever I wanted and not just when there was a WiFi connection. It costs $20 more a month than my normal cell bill but I'm hoping it'll be worth it!

This morning I judged the grade 5's Historica Fair at the school. I went to 8 different projects and heard my nephew Cameron's presentation on Alexander M. Ross. All the kids did great!

{Day 113 ~ 4.22.12}

Today we changed around Kaylee's room. It doesn't look the greatest because it covers the alcove below the built-in shelves, but it's the only other way the bed would fit in the room and she REALLY wanted a change. We'll keep it this way for a while then change it back.

Today the girls had swimming lessons in the morning then a school swim from 5-6pm and right after that, Kristen went to her friend Abbie's house for a birthday BBQ and sleepover.

Today was a really nice day and Barry got home a few hours early so he went out on the deck and played his guitar after the 2 kids I babysit went home.

Today Kaylee's Sparks group met at Clay Cafe to paint a ceramic tile to get glazed and fired. Kristen came along and painted one too, along with herclassmate that has a little sister that is in Sparks as well.

{Day 109 ~ 4.18.12}

Today the school had a tea/lunch for all the volunteers who help at the school. Only about 8 or 9 showed up, but there was nice music playing and the school choir cam in to sing some songs they will be singing at the Music Festival on May 1st. Kristen was hidden behind some kids so I didn't get any good shots of her. So I took a picture of the "swag" we got...a volunteer pin and flashlight keychain. :)

We're having a warm streak here in Nova Scotia! Today was mostly cloudy but we did have some sun in the afternoon and it was warm enough out to wear shorts...the rest of the week is supposed to be about the same too!

This morning I had to go to the city for a KUB x-ray on my kidneys/ureter/bladder to see if kidneys stones are what's causing the abdominal pain I've been having for 5 weeks. The x-rays came out clear for those though so they aren't the problem. :( Nice to know no kidney stones have grown since my last lithotripsy in September though.

Today is the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. Last night we watched the movie Titanic (James Cameron's 1997 version) and today we watched specials on the History Channel & the National Geographic Channel. *obviously not my picture.

{Day 105 ~ 4.14.12}

Today the girls had their first swimming lesson ever! We thought it was about time we registered them for some so they'd know how to swim this summer! They both did really well...it helps that Kristen can already doggy paddle in the deep end, she just needs to learn technique. Afterward we went to WalMart to get another swimsuit each since Kristen doesn't really have any that fit her (& Kaylee thought it wasn't fair if she didn't get one too LOL)

{Day 104 ~ 4.13.12}

Yesterday the boy I babysit who is allergic to peanuts ate a foiled egg (which he normally can have a few of) but the one he chose out of Kaylee's basket had peanut butter in it and he started to have a reaction so I had to call 911 and have an ambulance come. He was doing okay when they left, but just to make sure, he went with them in the ambulance and his mom followed behind. She thanked me today by giving me a card. :)

{Day 103 ~ 4.12.12}

I searched for a long time to find a tiny mouse pad that would fit beneath the keyboard so it wouldn't wear the laptop down. It took more than a year, but I finally got this set...a regular sized one for the girl's desktop and a small coaster sized one for me! It's the size of my mouse. LOL

{Day 102 ~ 4.11.12}

I bought some used clothes from someone today which included this funky skirt as well as 2 sundresses, a tank top and a pair of jean shorts. Kaylee loves it!

{Day 101 ~ 4.10.12}

Today was a beautiful day...sunny and a high of  15! The kids had a few friends over to bike around and play some games.

{Day 100 ~ 4.9.12}

We went to the 3D Diner for brunch today since Barry has it off, then went to WalMart to exchange Kaylee's new sandals. The ones she got yesterday fit her, but wouldn't for long so we opted to get a bigger size.



 

{Day 99 ~ 4.8.12}

Happy Easter! The girls got up at 7am but Kaylee wasn't feeling well so I gave her some medicine. While they looked at their "loot" from the Easter Bunny she started feeling better though. After that the girls looked for their eggs. Later in the afternoon we went to my parents house for supper...turkey & ham dinner as well as lemon meringue, butterscotch and apple pies. Yum!

{Day 98 ~ 4.7.12}

After lunch Barry & I took the girls to Sugar Moon Farm for a tour of how they make maple syrup then made sugar on snow (which was so yummy), purchased some maple butter & maple candy then went for a walk in the woods to see the tapped trees. It was a great time!

{Day 97 ~ 4.6.12}

Earlier in the week, the school gave out some Easter "gifts" to the kids...Kaylee got a pretty beaded basket and Kristen got a Tinkerbell egg dying kit. Today we decided to dye the eggs and then I displayed them in Kaylee's basket for a bit (meaning long enough for me to get a picture LOL).

{Day 96 ~ 4.5.12}

After my doctor's appointment this morning I visited my grandmother for a few hours and brought her the bird seed ball I made at Kaylee's Sparks meeting on Tuesday. She loves birds and is always feeding the ones that come on her yard and since we had 2, I thought she'd enjoy one.

The buds on the trees are coming out! These ones on the big tree out back look like pussy willows.

Tonight at Kaylee's Sparks meeting we had an Easter Egg hunt for some treats, made a bird seed ball to hang outside for the birds to eat and also had a tour of the Fire Hall where the girls got to see the inside of a truck, see what gear the firefighter's have to wear and test out the personal water carriers they have as well.

Kaylee got some Girl Guide cookies to sell tonight! We brought them back to our subdivision this time. Sold just one case but still have 2 more to sell though.

Kaylee went with her daddy to a birthday bowling party this afternoon for her friend Rachel. I guess after she got her Nintendo 3DS, every one was bugging her about it so she was cranky, hence the little smile. LOL
