{Day 152 ~ 5.31.12}

This morning my in-laws came up so my father-in-law could help Barry start redoing the deck. The rails are totally rotten and it's only 8 feet wide with stairs going up each side, so we are putting in all new rails, taking out the side stairs and putting in one set of stairs going out the front, and widening it by 4 feet. The rails looked perfect when we moved here almost exactly 3 years to the day, and now look at them! My in-laws are staying the night so they can finish the deck tomorrow.

{Day 151 ~ 5.30.12}

This morning I took the girls to the dentist. Kaylee cried when the hygienist tried to use the sucker while cleaning her teeth, but after we left she said it was a fun visit. LOL Kristen has 2 cavities so she has to go back on the 13th to get them filled. They both got new toothbrushes, floss and a toy.

This evening I went to the NSAC Gardens to take pictures of my cousin Peyton before her grade 9 prom. While I was waiting for them to come, I shot some pictures of the beautiful Rock Gardens.

Barry came home from Sudbury at 9:30 last night and gave the girls their souvenirs after school today...sweatshirts that have a "Big Nickel" emblem on it. The shirts are a bit big, but at least they aren't too small! Eventually they'll grow into them. He got me a "Big Nickel" magnet for the fridge. :)

{Day 148 ~ 5.27.12}

Today Kristen had her 2nd birthday party, this time just a small one with a few neighborhood friends and some family. The brownie cake & mudslide ice cream we had was yummy!

{Day 147 ~ 5.26.12}

Today we had Kaylee's Sparks party at her leaders house from 3-8. With Twyla's and my help, they made a few crafts, beaded a bracelet, made their own pizza & ice cream and had a bonfire (with Smores of course!) The girls had a blast!

{Day 146 ~ 5.25.12}

Today was the annual Fun Fair at the school where we had hamburgers and sausages for supper, bought some goodies at the bake sale and the girls had fun playing all sorts of games and won lot of prizes.

{Day 145 ~ 5.24.12}

Today the school had a Dance Festival where each class got a turn to do 2 dances, as well as 2 "free for all" dances where the siblings and parents, etc. were allowed to partake. I didn't get any really good photos of the girls since they weren't really in my sight, so I chose to use this one of all the students sitting down before the festival started. Sadly though, neither of my girls are in it. Kristen was too far off to the left and Kaylee was too far off to the right.

{Day 144 ~ 5.23.12}

Happy 10th birthday to my girl Kristen! My mom & 2 of my nephews came over after school for a bit then my in-laws came with my niece for a visit and to take the girls out to Wendy's for supper (Kristen's choice). They gave her roller blades for her birthday, which she loves!

{Day 143 ~ 5.22.12}

Kristen got a friendship bracelet kit for her birthday so today she decided to try it out. Or rather, she decided I should try it out. LOL I did most of it (since I have experience making them when I was a kid) but she did help me out a bit. :)

{Day 142 ~ 5.21.12}

Today was Victoria Day so the girls didn't have school. It was gorgeous out so they spent a few hours having a water gun fight, then later this afternoon I took the girls and Kristen's BFF to a park to play for a bit then to Molly's Dairy Bar for ice cream.

{Day 141 ~ 5.20.12}

Today was a beautiful day so I took the girls to the mall. Kristen wanted to spend her Ardene's gift card she got yesterday and I wanted to find her a Nerf football, which I did. We then went to Tim Horton's for a treat and to the school to play on the equipment for a bit. This piece is called a Neptune Climber which is on the "big kids" side.

{Day 140 ~ 5.19.12}

Kristen had her 10th birthday party today (1st of 2). Only 3 of the 9 classmates she invited actually came. Even though the party was small, she still had a lot of fun. Her friend Georgia was supposed to stay overnight but got a bit homesick before supper so she stayed until 9 so we could watch the movie Return to Oz that I gave Kristen in her present.

We have noticed a few sapsucker woodpeckers pecking at our Mountain Ash tree out front lately. It's a neat pattern they make with all the holes, but I don't want it killing the tree! see the flies having a feast on the sap running down the tree?

{Day 138 ~ 5.17.12}

Today was an inside sort of day and Chloe brought her iPod Touch over this morning so as soon as they came home from school they all plopped on the couch and started playing!

Today was "Why Cook? Wednesday" where I take the kids out to eat instead of stay in. This week we went to Jungle Jim's. Not bad food, but not awesome either. Kristen had fun trying on the mask they give out with the kids menu on the other side.

{Day 136 ~ 5.15.12}

This morning I returned a dress I bought Kaylee that didn't fit her and got 2 pairs of shorts for Kristen then headed over to Donna's to get my hair cut. It's been 5 months since I had it done last and was starting to get too long and weighed down. Feels much better now!

{Day 135 ~ 5.14.12}

I went to the mall today to get the rest of the items for Kristen's loot bags for her party next weekend. Not too bad I don't think...full of useful and fun things. :)

{Day 134 ~ 5.13.12}

Happy Mothers Day! Today when I woke up, Kristen made me breakfast (Eggos and apple juice) and both girls brought me their gifts. I just love both of the crafts the girls made for me! I'd love to find a frame to put Kristen's canvas painting in. Later in the afternoon I took the girls over to my parents house to visit and have supper then came home to have a video chat with Barry.

{Day 133 ~ 5.12.12}

Today the girls got their mid-term results at their swimming lessons and Kristen actually graduated from Swim Kids 1! She will still stay for the rest of the sessions, but will concentrate on Swim Kids 2 skills. We're so proud of her for doing so well so quickly!

{Day 132 ~ 5.11.12}

Before having to be home so Eastlink could disconnect their stuff, I went to the Ten Thousand Villages fair trade sale at a local church and got a few things including this beaded star ornament from India that has a long beaded tassle.

Today a tech from Bell came to install our new FibreOP bundle ~ phone, internet & TV. Because of the way the cables are run in our house, it took him a bit longer to do, but after 7 hours, all was installed and running!

I decided to start taking the girls out for supper every Wednesday while Barry is gone so we decided to go to Frank & Gino's this time. Good food as always and the girls even ate all of it for once!

{Day 129 ~ 5.8.12}

Today I took the car to my friend Jamie's shop (S & J Langille's) to get fixed. The engine light was on since Halloween so we figured it was about time! Afterward I went to buy Barry's Father's Day present, my mom's Mother's Day present and a few things for the house.

{Day 128 ~ 5.7.12}

Today Bell was supposed to come and install our FibreOP and that was supposed to be my picture. I waited ALL day for them to come and it turns out due to "unforeseen circumstances" they weren't able to come so they're doing it on Thursday. Got a $100 credit for the inconvenience though! I got a few cases for my phone in the mail today. This one is a Speck. Nice case but because it's glossy, it'll scratch up pretty easily.

{Day 127 ~ 5.6.12}

Today was a nice day so we went outside and planted a little flower plant I got for judging at the Historica Fair, some poppy seeds one of my Poppy friends (my mommies group) gave me and a tree sapling Kristen got from someone at the park. Let's see if they'll all grow. I am known to kill plants!

{Day 126 ~ 5.5.12}

Today was Swimming Lesson day! They finally finished working on the front facad of the building, but because the pool will be shutting down in the fall when the Civic Centre opens, they didn't put the sign back up (or maybe they just didn't get around to it yet LOL). After swimming we went to WalMart/McD's to have lunch and grab a few things then to the mall because I am having a "No Service" problem with my phone and needed to get it checked.

After coming home from the Scholastic Book Fair where the girls each got 3 books, we had a video chat with their Daddy for about 15 minutes. They lit right up as soon as they saw his face!

{Day 124 ~ 5.3.12}

Barry left at 5am and his short layover in Toronto turned out to be a 6 hour one because of a canceled flight. Besides that, today was a beautiful day! 7 red tulips are growing on the backside of our house and are fully bloomed. Last year someone came by and snatched up all the heads. Hopefully they stick around this year!

{Day 123 ~ 5.2.12}

Barry took off work today and we let the girls stay home from school so we could go out and have some family time. We went to Smitty's for brunch then WalMart to get the girls a toy (and a few other things). We were going to go to the park but it got pretty cloudy and Barry needed to ship his work box off so it would get there by tomorrow. The girls still loved the day. :)

{Day 122 ~ 5.1.12}

Barry finally got it confirmed today that he'll be starting work in Sudbury, Ontario on Thursday. He'll be going up for 3 weeks at a time, working straight through so he can have 9 days off at a time to come home. We're sad, but know it's best for the family as he'll be making more money up there. I hope the next 9 months will go by quickly!
